“They sell handmade chocolates from the basic varieties to experimental, as well as crazy looking chocolate sculptures, cakes to order and out of the ordinary slices/desserts which change every day.

I’ve seen proper truffles, fruit creams, pralines, ‘palets’ (not sure what that means!) and apparently their ganache torte is to die for. I think it is all done by one lady who was inspired by living in South America for a while and she manages to do it all in just a wee shop. I bought a selection of chocolates at Christmas time and this included one haggis flavour, a few cocktail flavours, dark choc chilli and I think a raspberry cheescake.

Honestly they were to die for!”

Thinking Chocolate is little gem of a shop, run by a lady called Nadia. She has an interesting range of chocolates, exotic truffles to die for, and some wacky wedding cakes I have seen her working on. I have been a regular visitor here ever since I first discovered it in 2011.
The little shop is opposite the post office on London Road, in the Colonies area of Abbeyhill, and is about about a 10 minute walk from either The Playhouse or the Scottish Parliament building.
